KPop Demon Hunters' Golden Performance: Huntr/x Trio's NYE Extravaganza (2026)

What a way to ring in the New Year! The talented singers behind the 'KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack, specifically the trio known as Huntr/x, delivered a truly 'Golden' performance at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, and it was a perfect culmination of their phenomenal year. Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the voices behind the demon-hunting team, lit up Times Square on Wednesday night, offering a memorable start to 2025.

Their performance was the cherry on top of an already incredible year. The women played a crucial role in making the Netflix movie a massive success. Their song, 'Golden,' became a breakout hit, dominating Billboard's Hot 100 for an impressive 18 nonconsecutive weeks. It also soared to the top of charts globally, achieving double platinum certification in the United States by the RIAA. Furthermore, 'KPop Demon Hunters' became the most-watched movie in Netflix's history, a testament to its widespread appeal.

But here's where it gets personal. Ejae shared her reflections with Rolling Stone, stating, "I feel like I experienced all facets of K-pop. I was a trainee, I became a songwriter, I also vocal directed for K-pop idols. So I really resonated with [the KPop Demon Hunters character] Rumi. She’s such a perfectionist and trying to hide her shame, hide her flaws. And that’s a huge part of when you’re training. You’re trying to put your best foot forward. ‘Golden’ really means a lot to me, because I feel like at that time, I needed a song like that.” This quote gives us a glimpse into the depth and emotion behind the song.

The New Year's Eve event, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, was packed with star power. Performers included Chappell Roan, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Maren Morris, Chance the Rapper (who also co-hosted with Rita Ora), 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Demi Lovato, Jess Glynne, and Wyclef Jean, among others.

It's worth noting that Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Corporation, which also owns Rolling Stone. Does this connection influence the coverage, or is it just a coincidence?
